FAQ

1. How long does shipping take?
Processing: 1‑3 business days (mattresses, slides); 3‑7 business days (bunk beds). Shipping: 5‑10 days for small items; bunk beds via freight: 7‑20 business days (contiguous US). You'll receive tracking via email.

2. What are shipping costs?
Calculated at checkout. Bunk beds may have separate freight charges. Free standard shipping on qualifying orders.

3. Do you ship outside the contiguous US?
Currently, only to the contiguous 48 states.

4. Do items require assembly?

  • Children's bunk beds: Yes, full assembly required (attaching guardrails, ladder, slats, hardware). Instructions included. Two people recommended for safety.

  • Slides: Yes, require installation onto bunk beds. Must be compatible with bed model; follow instructions exactly.

  • Mattresses: No assembly (unroll and allow to expand 24‑48 hours).

5. What safety standards do your children's bunk beds meet?
All our children's bunk beds (marketed for children under 13) comply with 16 CFR Part 1513 – the CPSC mandatory safety standard for children's bunk beds, which incorporates by reference ASTM F1427 (Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Bunk Beds). This standard is intended to minimize accidents to children resulting from normal use and reasonably foreseeable misuse.

Key Requirements of 16 CFR Part 1513 / ASTM F1427:

  • Guardrails: Upper bunk must have continuous guardrails on both sides with specified height requirements and openings sized to prevent entrapment.

  • Openings: All openings in the bed must be sized to prevent entrapment of a child's head and neck (no entrapment hazards).

  • Mattress size requirements: Each mattress must fit snugly within the bed frame.

  • Structural integrity: Must pass stability and static load tests.

  • Warning labels: Permanently affixed labels specifying:

    • Manufacturer name, model number, and date of manufacture.

    • Warns not to place children under 6 years on the upper bunk.

    • Specifies recommended mattress size.

    • Prohibits attaching items that could cause strangulation.

  • Instruction manual: Detailed assembly, installation, and safety instructions must accompany the product.

6. Are your bunk beds subject to CPSIA requirements?
Yes. As bunk beds marketed for children under 13, they must also comply with the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA):

  • Lead content: Accessible parts ≤100 ppm.

  • Phthalates: ≤0.1% (1000 ppm) for each of six specified phthalates.

  • Tracking labels: Permanent marks on product and packaging (manufacturer name, production date, batch/lot number, country of origin).

7. What is a Children's Product Certificate (CPC) for children's bunk beds?
Yes. For all children's bunk beds, we provide a Children's Product Certificate (CPC) based on third‑party testing at a CPSC‑accepted laboratory. The CPC certifies compliance with:

  • 16 CFR Part 1513 (bunk bed safety standard)

  • ASTM F1427 (voluntary standard incorporated by reference)

  • CPSIA lead (<100 ppm) and phthalates (<0.1%) limits

  • 16 CFR Part 1130 tracking labels

8. What safety standards do your mattresses meet?
All our mattresses comply with two mandatory CPSC flammability standards:

16 CFR Part 1632 (Cigarette Ignition Resistance):

  • Prescribes a test to determine ignition resistance when exposed to a lighted cigarette.

  • Pass criterion: Char length ≤2 inches (5.1 cm) in any direction from the nearest point of the cigarette.

  • Ticking materials must be classified per §1632.6.

16 CFR Part 1633 (Open Flame Resistance):

  • Uses dual propane burners representing burning bedclothes.

  • Pass criteria:

    1. Peak rate of heat release ≤200 kilowatts (kW) at any time within the 30-minute test.

    2. Total heat release ≤15 megajoules (MJ) for the first 10 minutes of the test.

Crib Mattresses (if applicable): For crib mattresses intended for children under 3, they comply with 16 CFR Part 1241, incorporating ASTM F2933, covering sharp points/edges, small parts, lead/phthalates, finger entrapment, and proper labeling.

9. Do your mattresses bear law labels?
Yes. Every mattress we sell has a permanent, legible law label containing manufacturer name, model number, production date (month/year), and country of origin. Do not remove. Defacing or removing the law label is a federal offense.

10. Do your mattresses require a General Certificate of Conformity (GCC)?
Yes. For adult/general‑use mattresses, we provide a General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) available upon request, certifying compliance with 16 CFR Parts 1632 and 1633 based on third‑party testing.

11. What is product registration for durable infant/toddler products?
Under 16 CFR Part 1130 (Danny Keysar Child Product Safety Notification Act), durable infant/toddler products must include a postage-paid product registration card and permanent tracking labels. Our products include registration cards that clearly state consumer information will be used only for safety alerts or recall notifications and will not be used for any other purpose. Please complete and return your registration card.

12. What are the slide attachment requirements?
Our slides are designed to attach to the side of children's bunk beds. Slides must:

  • Be installed exactly per manufacturer instructions.

  • Have a non‑slip landing zone.

  • Include handrails and proper guardrails.

  • Only be used with compatible bunk bed models.

  • Never be used without adult supervision.
